Our neighbours, along with my husband Zan and I recently embarked on an adventure to humanely capture and spay/neuter a stray mother cat and her four feral kittens. Burlington Animal Control and the Burlington Humane Society refused to help us. Their only solution was to euthanize the mother and “try” to adopt out the kittens. Shame on them.
Thankfully, we heard about The Pride Rescue. This well organized group of dedicated volunteers assist people with their “kitty challenges”. They loaned us kindness traps, coached and encouraged us, and willingly gave of their time whenever we called. We would never have been able to successfully sequester this family of felines without their help and we are forever grateful to Regan and Margaret for their invaluable support.
If you or someone you know is cat or kitty challenged like we were, pass this on. AND…The Pride Rescue does not receive funding nor do they have charitable status. However they need financial assistance for expenses such as veterinarian costs, food and litter. If you’d like to donate, please visit their website or call 905.522.0508. Meow!
